There is a right way to build a football league and a wrong way. The right way starts here, with coaches and referees who are properly trained, formally certified, and held to a consistent standard before a single competitive game is played. KFAF is running two consecutive Level 1 clinics: one for coaches, one for match officials(Referees). Both programmes will deliver fundamental skills instruction alongside professional leadership development modules facilitated by industry experts.
The timing is deliberate. These clinics run ahead of the national league kick-off, ensuring that everyone who steps onto a KFAF field in an official capacity does so with the knowledge, tools, and recognition to do the job properly. That raises the standard of the league. It protects the athletes. And it signals to every federation, partner, and observer that KFAF is building something serious.

The two clinics are staggered, allowing coaches and referees to attend both if able and develop together in a shared environment while each clinic remains focused and purpose-built for its audience. Both streams are facilitated by a distinguished team of local and international experts, bringing real-world experience from Kenya and beyond directly into the room.

KFAF Level 1 — The Foundation of Every Future Certification.
Every participant who completes the clinic will receive a KFAF-recognised Level 1 certificate. This is not a participation trophy it is a formal credential that serves as the prerequisite for advancement to higher-level KFAF certification. Without it, you cannot progress. With it, the pathway to elite-level coaching and officiating in Kenya is open.

As KFAF grows through school programmes, university leagues, a national competitive structure, and international partnerships with NFL Flag and IFAF, the demand for certified coaches and officials will grow with it. Moses Waweru leads the officiating clinic — and his credentials speak for themselves. Earlier this year, Waweru made history as the first African official to participate in the Copenhagen Bowl in Denmark, where he officiated 15 games including two championship finals and received formal evaluations from top IFAF officials across Europe. The knowledge he brought back from Copenhagen is now coming directly into this clinic. Participants are learning from someone who has operated at the highest levels of international officiating and returned with a blueprint for what it takes.
