The curtain has come down on the highly contested inaugural Nairobi Region Flag Football Senior League, hosted at the iconic University of Nairobi, and when the dust settled, one name stood above all:
JKUAT. DOUBLE CHAMPIONS.
MEN'S DIVISION 6 teams. 16 games. Zero mercy.
The field was stacked: University of Nairobi - Mighty Nyati 🔴 JKUAT - Sparrows 🟡 USIU - Panthers 🟠 Hurricanes AFC ⚫ Simba AFC 🟢 JKUAT- Karen
After 16 hard-fought games, the Sparrows and the Mighty Nyati were DEAD LEVEL on 42 total points. The title came down to goal point difference, and JKUAT Sparrows edged it by a massive 32 points to be crowned champions.
Tricky plays. Lightning-fast decisions. Jaw-dropping interceptions. The Sparrows didn't just win, they put on a MASTERCLASS.
WOMEN'S DIVISION — JKUAT SPARLETTES vs Hurricanes AFC
The JKUAT Sparletts saved the best for last. On the final day of the league, they defeated the Hurricanes by just 2 total points to snatch the women's crown in the most dramatic finish possible.
The Hurricanes will be hurting so close, yet so far. But what a season they gave us. Respect. 🙏
KFAF Executive praised every single team for showing up, competing with heart, and making this inaugural season a competition to remember forever. The standard has been SET!
USIU PANTHERS — MOST IMPROVED & MOST PROMISING TEAM
Don't sleep on the Panthers. Their coach made it crystal clear after picking up the Most Improved Team award:
"Next league? We're taking the title. We are LETHAL in all departments."
Nairobi, you've been warned.
For Simba AFC and JKUAT, Karen Season 1 is foundational. The lessons learned in that field are priceless. Come back hungrier.
